How I use AI

Where AI helps my work, where I don't use it, and the rules I follow.

AI is part of how I work, so I'd rather explain it than hide it.

What it is good for

It helps me put my thoughts in order and come up with different solutions. It reads every word of a transcript, so I can pay close attention to what users say. It also turns information from across the internet into a learning path. I still read the sources when I can.

What I use, and for what

  • Claude and Claude Code: my mentor, and the way I build this site.
  • Gemini: transcribing my interviews and sessions. It was really good at that.
  • Notion AI: structuring my notes.
  • ChatGPT: only for colour ideas.
  • Translation: Claude drafts the Spanish and Italian versions from my English text. I review them.

I also use it to connect the dots, polish, flag accessibility issues, check my work and connect to my services. I see it as a tool for expressing myself.

Where I draw the line

The research comes from actual people. As long as AI doesn't mute what people say, I'm good with it. If a transcript and my own notes disagree, the transcript wins.

I don't want products made only by AI, though I recognise the speed it brings.

My rules

  • Evidence beats wording.
  • No invented numbers or quotes.
  • Counts are checked against a facts file.
  • Tested and designed-only stay labelled.

The team that checks this site

Four AI agents help me build and check this portfolio.

  • Claude CodeBuilds and publishes this site.
  • MaraReviews the portfolio like a hiring manager would: what stands out, what worries them, whether they would interview me.
  • SolThe quality gate. Checks each change against my rules and against Mara's review. Nothing goes live unless both agree.
  • VeraArt director. Checks the site against what I wrote I want: style, inspiration, what represents me. Says what is not applied yet, and why.

These are AI agents, not people. Their names and avatars were chosen while building this site. They review the work; I make the decisions.

What I want to keep human

I don't want a fully AI outcome. I appreciate what people do, the handcrafting. I still want to learn the tools well enough to explain them to agents.
